Leo Mason became a London-based professional photographer after an
initial career in advertising.
He worked at the OBSERVER and other National Newspapers, before forming the
SPLIT SECOND PHOTO AGENCY.
During a 40 year span he has contributed to TIME Magazine, NEWSWEEK, Sports Illustrated, LIFE Magazine, GQ, USA TODAY, Paris-Match, STERN, L’Equipe and all the worlds top magazines.

In 1987/8 he lived in Fremantle Australia under contract for TIME Magazine shooting the America's Cup.
He was photo press officer for the 1991 RUGBY WORLD CUP and official photographer for the Peter de Savery Blue Arrow AMERICA'S CUP Challenge, Martell Grand National, Cisco World Matchplay golf etc

He is an ex-council member of the CHELSEA ARTS CLUB and was chair of the clubs exhibitions and shows sub-committee for 3 years.
He is an associate member of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and holds over 18 major photographic awards.
Photo exhibitions include: 'The Coast Exposed' in association with MAGNUM PHOTOS and the National Trust on permanent display at the Greenwich National Maritime Museum.

Since 2009 Leo Mason has photographed some of the worlds best principal dancers and ballerina’s Carlos Acosta Natalia Osipova Tamara Rojo Vadim Muatagirov Daria Klimetova Ivan Vasilev at Covent Garden Sadlers Wells and the London Coliseum.
He has also shot all forms of contemporary dance company productions including Flamenco Hip-Hop and Argentinian Tango etc.
He is a specialist in multiple exposure sports & dance photography.
